Ruby Contract Programmer for Consumer Internet Startup

New SF-based consumer Internet website founded by experienced startup entrepreneurs, requires a great RoR contract programmer with experience programming a live RoR website. Opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, who have built, funded and sold massively successful consumer Internet properties.

The website is essentially operational, with a beta launch scheduled within weeks. RoR programmer will join the existing site architect to refine the system to improve performance, and implement new features identified through the beta testing process. While we seek a full-spectrum web engineer, this job will have a heavy front-end component.

Requirements include:

· Self-starter, self-motivated
· Passionate about consumer internet (sites like Yelp, Twitter, )
· Ruby on Rails: with an emphasis on fast efficient code for an interactive social networking site
· SQL/MySQL: using standard RoR database calls
· AJAX: Ability to write front end and the backend RoR code
· Javascript: required for Ajax, but we also use Javascript for form checking and general UI
· CSS/HTML: some knowledge of both (UI does some div updates)
· Cron Jobs: some knowledge. We use chron jobs for emails and other routine functions (Perl currently)
